Unfortunately there is not just a single problem with WSL1/2, and not a single solution that helps everyone. This is why Microsoft’s WSL troubleshooting guide is an extensive document:

> **[Troubleshooting Windows Subsystem for Linux](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/troubleshooting)**
>
> Provides detailed information about common errors and issues people run into while running Linux on the Windows Subsystem for Linux.

Once you get WSL working, Docker Desktop should work too.

The new Docker Desktop release go some fixes to give better error messages. I’m not sure if this is what the release note referred, but that release came out yesterday, so if you were still trying 4.77, you can try 4.78 too.
