Before resolving my issue, I had explored and tried every possible solution from both Stack Overflow and this forum, but none of them worked for me (which I understand may seem unusual). Regarding the use of -R, I am fully aware that it is not recommended; I explicitly mentioned this in my previous response. However, I included it because I thought it might provide insight to anyone encountering a similar situation. Additionally, I still have no explanation as to why 777 permissions failed while 755 permissions worked.

I am surprised that it didn’t work on a recent docker version that uses BuildKit to build images (it’s been the default since Docker v23.0).
