Factory Reset lost Token

Expected behavior

Factory Reset would not require me to reenter my token

Actual behavior

Factory Reset prompts for a new token at startup, adding insult to injury, I cannot find the token and clicking the “I don’t have a token” button takes me to a log in page, which then takes me to a page to download the token, but no token.

Information

  • the output of:
    • pinata diagnose -u on OSX
    • DockerDebugInfo.ps1 using Powershell on Windows
  • a reproducible case if this is a bug, Dockerfiles FTW
  • page URL if this is a docs issue or the name of a man page
  • host distribution and version ( OSX 10.10.x, OSX 10.11.x, Windows, etc )

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Click Menu Bar
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Factory Reset
  4. Start Docker App
  5. See screen asking for token
  6. Search inbox, filesystem for token
  7. Panic a little
  8. Click Button saying “I don’t have a token”
  9. Log into page, don’t find token
  10. start to panic a lot
  11. search the forums
  12. google search
  13. cry
  14. log this ticket

Same thing for me… lost my token after factory reset… so I can’t recover my token & use docker beta for mac again :frowning:

Running the risk of sounding obvious, but shouldn’t you have received an invitation token by email (subject is “Docker Private Beta”)?

Yeah, it was one of those… “I’ll never need this again” and I deleted it. :frowning:

Yes, same thing, looks like I deleted it, no way to find it anymore :scream:

Thanks @ruimarinho. You saved my life.

We do warn you that the app will require the token again once it’s been factory reset so this isn’t a bug.

@shouze @davidasnider Probably best to drop a mail to beta-feedback@docker.com and ask for your token to be re-issued

I have the same problem. Already drop a mail to beta-feedback@docker.com but did not receive answer.
