Need some explanation on this docker built for the teamviewer

(Justsrad) #1

Hi everyone,

I would like to know what is the "target " in the mapping of /usr/local/bin .
What does it refer to?
And what does the “instl” do?
Thanks for the valuable feedback.

docker run -it --rm \
-v /usr/local/bin:/target \
hurricane/teamviewer \
instl

For some guidance on the syntax of the docker run command, and specifically the shared volume flags, please see https://docs.docker.com/engine/reference/run/#volume-shared-filesystems and https://docs.docker.com/storage/volumes/#choose-the--v-or---mount-flag

As for the meaning of “hurricane/teamviewer instl”, I’d guess that means “install”, but you’d have to check the documentation. For that, you could reasonably go to the teamviewer repository on the Docker Hub and see if there’s any documentation provided by the maintainers. That repository might be here: https://hub.docker.com/r/hurricane/teamviewer/
