We are running a setup with four docker hosts, and currently using docker-swarm for managing containers on them.
We were hoping to use the new docker networking functionality, but were disappointed to find that there is a dependency on kernel > 3.16 for the overlay network driver.
Our infrastructure runs on premise, on RHEL7 servers, thus constrained to kernel 3.10.
I am struggling to find out what our other options are. I have looked into flannel. From the docs it seem straightforward (exept from adding etcd to our lineup), but I wonder how this releates to the networkin subsystem.
With Flannel, will we only set the --bip daemon option and still use the bridge network driver?
Will docker services work across hosts in such a setup?
