Use Digital Ocean for instances, and AWS for database hosting, or not?

Hrm. I like AWS database hosting, it is really nice, and I don’t wanna host my database on my instances, as I would need to backup my database etc, and I don’t like that.

Currently I run on AWS instances, but I would like to move to Digital Ocean due to performance/pricing.

Is there anyone who have some nice setup with hosted postgres database and digital Ocean? I can of course use AWS RDS, and just connect to it. But I don’t want to add latency to the equation, and also security of course (AWS RDS with security group of the instances is clean, and no internet facing port to the database).

Or might there be some nice docker image that could integrate and handle backups etc?
