Version numbers

(Ronna) #1

I am confused about the version numbers.

I installed docker and docker-compose on three different machines and get different versions installed:

date;hostname;docker --version;docker-compose --version;uname -a

Why? Whats the different? Do I need to care? (or when do I need to care?

Is ubuntu a rolling release like Arch ? ( I am running locally on Arch ). If this is not the case it could be that you had slightly outdated repository lists on your ronald-desktop and mastodon machines.

Could you try doing a

sudo apt-get update

and see if you can find a version update for docker/docker-compose.

What’s worying here ( from my point of view ) is that your omicrontek has what appears to be a later version of docker with an earlier version of docker-compose :frowning: which is weird to say the least.
