Can't change password in ubuntu on synology NAS

Hello,

I installed docker on my Synology NAS and installed ubuntu but I’m not able to change the password with passwd or chpasswd.

passwd
Enter new UNIX password:
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: System error
passwd: password unchanged

chpasswd
root:newpassword
chpasswd: (user root) pam_chauthtok() failed, error:
System error
chpasswd: (line 1, user root) password not changed

I also googled a little but couldn’t find anything, that solves my issue.

Why do I need to change the password?
I want to install bind9 with webmin and that I can login to webmin I need the password.

hey which version of ubuntu image you are using ?

I’m using the Version 16.04.

Hello Noaboa, Do you have any guide on installing ubuntu on Docker using Synology? I did download the image but lost doing the configuration, like what port to use when setting up.
