My understanding that VMX is VT-X?

sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.features :

machdep.cpu.features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH DS ACPI MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SS HTT TM PBE SSE3 DTES64 MON DSCPL VMX EST TM2 SSSE3 CX16 TPR PDCM SSE4.1

Digging a bit deeper, found that the CPU does not support “Intel® VT-x with Extended Page Tables (EPT)” so is this the explanation?

kazak:~ rkazak$ sysctl kern.hv_support

kern.hv_support: 1

What do you get when you run the above command? Also a good reference is
