Hello, I’m fairly new to docker so excuse my ignorance.
I’m running a swarm setup with a manager and two workers, the manager is running portainer. I’m trying to run jenkins as a service so that I can have it be able to drain between nodes (I think this is something that should work) I have it setup to use a volume for persistent data, but when it gets drained from one node to another it boots back up and puts me back to the ‘Unlock Jenkins’ screen meaning its lost its data. If I drain it back to the original node it gets its data so i assume the volume is not moving with it, I did read and confirm on my server that when you create a volume it creates it on all nodes, is there a point to that if it doesn’t move the data with it?
I might be misunderstanding how this should work but is there anyway to get a Jenkins container as a service be able to move to a new node and keep its data? I’ve tried google this issue for hours but I can’t seem to find anything relating to draining a jenkins container as a service.
