How to reduce the local cache of image in cluster? Should it be?

I have established a container cluster (through swam, consul), and tried to deploy application in the cluster, I found:
When application(e.g. gitlab) is started by compose, the images(gitlab, redis, postgresql) will be downloaded and cached on the host running the container. So, after serveral times running, the images will be cached repeatedly on every host. Is there a method to avoid repeated caching? or is it necessary I think, it will save both space and time to start container.
