Jenkins container port configuration

I am running the below command “docker run -p 8080:8080 -p 50000:50000 jenkins” to start the Jenkins container. I would like to understand what is this “50000:50000”? and why we need it?

I understood that in “8080:8080” (host:container) , the container port 8080 is mapped to 8080 of host. correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!!

port 50000 is used to communicate between master and slaves

Thanks for the response. I am not trying to connect any slaves as of now, so can I just run ‘docker run -p 8080:8080 jenkins’ command ?
