Problem with "docker-compose build", Trying to Grab the Repository for the Wrong Place1

Hello, I am working with other people in a classroom environment on AWS, and on the 4th step of docker-compose build it tries to grab my github repository from the professors account. Below is the error message

Step 4/9 : RUN git clone https://github.com/[professors_class_acount]/[my_repository].git /app
 ---> Running in 5a61acdbcbcf
Cloning into '/app'...
fatal: could not read Username for 'https://github.com': No such device or address
The command '/bin/sh -c git clone https://github.com/[professors_class_acount]/[my_repository] /app' returned a non-zero code: 128
ERROR: Service 'web' failed to build : Build failed

I am not sure if docker-compose build is made locally, but is there anyway to force it to go through my account to get to the repository? No one else had the same problem and I’m a bit desperate.
