Restarting Docker with different parameters

Experimenting with Docker has taken me to setting different parameters during startup. I have enabled Docker as update-rc.d docker enable (so, it’s using /etc/default/docker for starting up). Only after editing this file, for example:

DOCKER_OPTS="–bip 10.0.0.1/24 --dns 8.8.8.8 --dns 8.8.4.4"

I do not see this change when restarting as service docker restart (still docker daemon -H fd:// in process list). When I start docker daemon $DOCKER_OPTS, I do see a change, by the way.

Grrr: Okay, https://docs.docker.com/engine/articles/systemd/ tells me more of that. I think that systemd is handy, but I can’t think of a usecase right now …
