Windows host: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.hosts is readonly

  • Issue type: General
  • OS Version/build: Windows 10 LTSC / 17763.678
  • App version: Docker version 19.03.1, build 74b1e89e8a

Hello

After install docker (docker-toolbox) on my Windows 10, it adds some lines at the end of C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.hosts file and made it read-only.

I need to add some local hostnames for my projects, not related to docker; but cannot save it because not allow changes.

There is a way to change back write permissions to this file ?

I’m using Docker-Toolbox to solve some virtualbox issues with Hyper-V (hyper-v removed)
