After install docker toolbox, I can't use boot2docker

when install docker toolbox, it ask to migrate the exist boot2docker to new toolbox, it is failed because my disk is full. Then whatever I try to install toolbox again, it always me the error:

The installation failed
The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

That’s fine, I am back to use boot2docker. But when I run the normal docker command, I got below error in boot2docker now, please help.

$ docker images
Error response from daemon: client and server don't have same version (client : 1.20, server: 1.18)

And I can’t stop boot2docker

$ boot2docker stop
error in run: Failed to stop machine "boot2docker-vm": exit status 1

Hello,

The docker toolbox installs the docker-machine CLI, which is the successor to the boot2docker CLI. The migration that it does takes what you had created with boot2docker, and makes it available through docker-machine. You can see the docker-machine machines by running docker-machine ls.

Here is a guide showing equivalent docker-machine and boot2docker commands: https://docs.docker.com/machine/migrate-to-machine/#subcommand-comparison

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks, @programmerq

For "The installation failed ", I finally knew the reason. When installed toolbox behind proxy, I always see the warning. whatever I set https_proxy or http_proxy or not. Clearly toolbox can’t detect the proxy automatically.
