All about working remotely with a Docker Desktop connected to a Docker server on the internet

Never mind. I intentionally posted in the “Docker Desktop” category and here I see it ended up in this “Hub” category. Forget it. Docker is obviously and certainly a terrific resource, but I have no more time for Docker stuff that doesn’t work, or any rude people who seem to enjoy being our online ‘forum police’.

You read a whole day about Docker and have not figured out that Docker Hub category is about the container image repository? Please chose a correct category.

If you want help, you should share more context. How is your server set up, how is Docker set up, how is Docker Desktop set up, how do you run Portainer?

It sounds frustrating to have your post moved unexpectedly. If you still need help with Docker Desktop, you might try reposting or reaching out through Docker’s official support channels. Hope you find a solution that works for you!

I’m sorry if you had a bad experience. I looked into the issue of the moved topic and there is no log of moving the topic. Whenever a moderator or the original poster moves a topic it appears in the edit history. To make sure the forum engine (Discourse) of this forum didn’t introduce a new bug, I tested moving a topic and it still appears in the edit history which is public and even unauthenticated users can see by clicking on the pencil icon above the post (not below which is the edit button itself). The only way to hide it would be using the “hide revision” feature but it would still be visible for moderators and I see no category change.

So the most likely explanation is that you accidentally created the topic in the Docker Hub category which is right after the last Docker Desktop category. It can happen easily. Even I have to be careful and I chose the wrong category sometimes because I clicked too fast and clicked on the wrong option. Even if I’m sure I did something and I’m not able to understand how something indicates otherwise, then I have to accept that it is more likely that my brain tricked me.

So I’m going to move the topic to the Docker Desktop category and please, if you still need help, ask your question again sharing as much details as you can. If you ask me, I can restore your origiinal question, but I will not edit your post without request. You can also just post it in a new message in this topic.
