Docker Desktop 4.47.0 on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 – App Running but GUI Not Showing

Hi,
I recently installed Docker Desktop 4.47.0 on my Windows 11 Pro 24H2 machine. The app appears to be running in the background (I can see it in Task Manager), but the GUI never shows up on the screen. No error messages are displayed, and I can’t access the dashboard or settings.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or fix the missing GUI?

System details:

  • Windows 11 Pro 24H2
  • Docker Desktop 4.47.0

Thanks in advance for your help!

I recommend reading the troubleshooting guide and check the logs mentioned there or even share the logs as mentioned there.

You can also try killing the process in the task manager and run again. Or check the notification area and look for the whale icon.

You can also try docker desktop stop and docker desktop start

I think I had a similar issue only when I used a pre-release version and something was broken while I tried to uninstall it. But I could never reproduce it intentionally and I could never find out what it was caused by when people reported similar issues.

Hi,

Running the Docker console command resolved my issue for now.

Thanks for the suggestion!
