I’m trying to use Docker WSL2 version [2.1.3.0(38275)] .If I open “WSL 2 Tech Preview”, the “settings” tab is stuck in “loading”. The “logs” tab is non-responsive (no logs).
If I do “docker info” from within the WSL2 Ubuntu shell, I get “ERROR: Cannot connect to the Docker daemon at unix:///var/run/docker.sock. Is the docker daemon running?”
Restarting Docker Desktop or the WSL2 shell doesn’t help.
I also ran into this a few days ago. Reinstalled Docker for WSL2 and updated when it prompted to do so at start. The same results, docker engine not running.
After that I did an uninstall and reinstall of 2.1.0 again, this time skipping the update. Now it is running. So it seems to be an issue with the latest release, let’s see where to report this
[EDIT] I see you already logged a ticket on https://github.com/docker/for-win/issues I believe, a reply similar to mine was already given there as well, so I guess it will be solved shortly:)
