Docker for mac not able to start

Expected behavior

When starting Docker for Mac, it should get to a state where it is able to respond to a docker ps or any other docker command.

Actual behavior

When starting Docker for Mac, it remains in a permanent state of “Docker starting…”

Information

  • Docker version: 1.12.0-rc4-beta20
  • Diagnostic ID: F084F324-64E5-4C07-85BC-A014E56CE183 (what do I have to do with this?)
  • OSX 10.11.4

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Download Docker for Mac
  2. Start Docker for Mac

Reinstall of Docker for Mac didn’t work. However, factory reset (docker icon -> “Preferences” -> “Uninstall/reset”) seems to have solved it.

I had to do the same thing, I’m not sure why though. Re-installed OSX beforehand though.
