Docker restart used too oten

In using Docker ce on Windows 10 Pro, I sometimes get a nonsensical computer response when I type in a Docker comand after no input for say 15 minues.

The usual way that I fix this is to restart Docker, using the icons in the lower right hand corner. It will then state that Docker is restarting and then after a minute it will state thta Docker is running.

This usually fixes things, but not always.

Even after it says that Docker is running and I type:

Docker images:

I get the response:

docker: Error response from daemon: Bad response from Docker engine

I am not sure what it is telling me here. What is it telling me?

Also, is there any way to reduce Docker constatntly halting and needing to be restarted.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What version number and type (CE, EE) of Docker engine are you running on that Win10 box?

Docker version 19.03.1 build 74b1e89.
