I’m thinking about installing Docker Desktop on a Win 11 Pro system (Intel 12th generation core I7 CPU w/ 32 GB RAM, Dell XPS 8950).
I’m unsure about the hardware virtualization requirement to use Hyper-V or WSL-2. There are no virtualization settinga in my bios but the CPU performance in Task Manager says: “Virtualization Enabled”.
Windows Features lists Hyper-V (w/ 2 sub items), Containers, and Virtual Machine Platform check boxes.
The virtualization in the bios will not be called Virtualization but for example VTx. Check the troubleshooting referred by the previous documentation page for more info:
I had already poured through the documentation you cited and the answer was unclear there. My system had nothing in the bios related to virtualization but apparently it was already enabled by default.
I believe the answer is rather simple, i.e., if the processor tab of the performance section of Task Manager says virtualization is enabled, then you’re OK.
