How to remove the drive linux after docker desktop uninstall

Continuing the discussion from How to completelly remove docker and all leftovers?:

HI,
I have the same problem as in " How to completelly remove docker and all leftovers?". I uninstalled docker desktop in control panel / add remove programs. Before I deleted all virtual machines.

But after many reboots there is a drive Linux on my windows-system. Could you please help me removing the drive?

Thanks, Andreas

What is a “drive Linux”? What do you mean exactly?

Docker official Documentation has a guide by the way

which was mention in the topic you came from. That includes folders you need to delete.

I mean another drive Linux when I open the windows explorer (Like in the other topic I mentioned):

I did the first uninstall via add/remove programs in Windows. After that I deleted the extra folders from the article.
After some reboots the drive Linux was there.

So I installed docker desktop again and a reboot. Then I did an uninstall via powershell (Ran as Admin).
After that I deleted the extra folders from the article.
After some reboots the drive Linux was there.

Then I installed docker desktop again and a Reboot. And I did an uninstall via cmd (Ran as Admin).
I renamed the extra folders in case you need any logfile.
After some reboots the drive Linux was there.

There are some registry Keys and values named docker and some named docker desktop. Should I delete them?

Thanks for your help!
Best regards, Andreas

That “Linux” is the menu for the WSL distributions. Not part of Docker Desktop. Unless you find a WSL2 distribution called “docker-desktop”, you deleted Docker Desktop. Everything else is just plain WSL2. Docker Desktop can use the WSL2 backend, but WSL2 exists without Docker Desktop.
