Installing Ubuntu in a docker container

Hi Guys, just a quick question. I have searched every ware for installing Ubuntu as a docker container, all you find is how to install Docker on Ubuntu.

I already have WordPress running fine, Has anyone got some information as to how to accomplish Ubuntu desktop on Docker accessible via browser.

Searched the Forum, also hope i have put this in the correct subject…

Richard

Hi

I think you might need to clear up for us, what you’re trying to accomplish here?
Do you want a complete ubuntu desktop, that you can connect to?

if so, check out this repo: Docker Hub

Hi, I followed your advice and I have connection but to the lxqt version. What should I do to get Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 as a Docker Container?

You can check Docker Hub for such images. I liked dorowu, you could connect with VNC to the desktop, but it hasn’t been updated for 3 years.

You can try to use updated clones, but you might need to build the image yourself and need to trust the creators of the image. And make sure to use the correct image path for existing ones, the readme might not be updated and still use old (and probably by now insecure) dorowu.

Or search Docker Hub for alternative images like this one (not tested myself).
