Pauses in container

(Sveri) #1

Hi,

I am using the latest boot2docker on W7 64 bit. Installation and things went smooth, sshing into the vm works too.

So I created a new image and start it, then start a java service inside the container and as soon as I do this I have multiple second breaks when I cannot do anything in the shell

It’s like: type for 1sec -> wait 3 sec (no chars appear, nothing happens, even though I type) -> type one more sec -> wait again and on and on.

Any Ideas how I can debug this issue? The java service is not doing anyhting cpu intense or anything else.

Thanks,
Sven

I’m going to guess that its doing something IO intensive - the vbox disk virtualisation isn’t particularly wonderful.

Added to that - did you give it enough memory?
