Can not connect to the docker daemon and unable to restart docker service

Hi Team, I have installed docker in a ubuntu virtual box and pulled multiple ubuntu images in virtual box and installed docker in those images. now i am facing the issue with docker service. I unable to start or restart the service

I am getting below error
Cannot connect to the docker daemonat unix:///var/run/docker.sock. is the docker daemon running.

Can you please help me to fix this iisue.
