Tried to switch to dark mode but it only made the buttons and a few things dark

It was requested also in 2022.
Dark mode requires all customization supporting both modes, and there are some. I donāt know how much work it would require, but I will forward it to Docker.
Can you also share what button you clicked on to switch to dark mode? Was it browser extension?
Thank you for the screenshot. Itās a shame how many times I went through the tabs and I didnāt remember that setting. It looks like it is indeed the customized theme that causes the problem. Thank you for reporting it!. I will see if I can do anything, but I also forwarded it to Docker.
I write it in a separate post to find it easier. Discourse supports a special mode that anyone can use temporarily. It is called āsafe modeā. You can use this link to disable the customization

I shared it as a code block to make sure it is not indexed by search engines which could confuse some visitors, but you can copy-paste it into the URL bar and enable the dark mode. Note that it will not persist. It works only until you have the āsafe_modeā parameter in the URL so either bookmark it or you need to add the parameters back when you visit the forum next time. You can click on any internal link and the parameter will be kept until you close the browser tab.
When the issue is fixed, you will not need this trick anymore. Here is the topic about the safe mode of Discourse:
