Cursor not showing current location in bash

Might be a noob question but I can’t seem to find a solution that works after a bit on the internet. I’m using boot2docker, and when I docker exec -it bash into a running container, I can’t seem to make my bash cursor blink and show up based on the position I’m in when navigating characters via the left/right arrows…I constantly need to wait a second for the cursor to start blinking again to know the current cursor location.

How can I remedy this? A very minor thing, but can be kind of annoying when fixing typos :P.
