status on docker and docker-compose

I have not been able to find/google any information pertaining to the current (Aug 8th 2016) status of docker and docker-compose on windows server 2016 TP4.

The dev team is building a NGINX, PHP, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB docker-compose.yml on Windows/Mac clients but I am not sure whether we will be able to deploy the containers on a vmware virtualized windows server 2016 tp4 - or we will have to set up a Linux of sorts?

To do that, you’d have to create Windows Docker containers. Those run without Linux on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016. Details here: In Docker for Windows does each container run in separate VM?
