Hi, first of all sorry if i’m in the wrong topic, didn’t find any “help” topic !
I’ve used Docker for not that long so I don’t really understand many of it, but I created several containers that are working fine. The thing is there are two of them (Jackett and Ngix Proxy Manager) that aren’t accessible (via a web browser and the good IP+port combo) after my server’s startup.
In fact, when I go to Portainer I see them as “running” but I can never reach them. For NGINX I have to manually restart the container after startup but for Jackett nothing I do works…
Does anyone have any idea where this problem could come from ?
PS : for all my containers the restart policy is “unless stopped” and I use Docker on Ubuntu Server 22.04. To install the not-so-working containers I just used the docker-compose text given by the developers and modified put the /config and /data and all on dedicated files I created in my home directory

Almost every topic is a “help” topic, but the general discussion is fine too, although you can’t mark a post as “solved” here.
It would help if you could share more information about the containers preferably from the terminal, as Portainer is an other layer which also confuses us sometimes.
If the container is really running you should be able to access it. If you need to restart it, that must be in a state in which the container itself might be running but not the expected way. So sharing some logs could bring us closer to the problem. Do you have any container logs?
Okay I found the logs for both Jackett and NGINX Proxy Manager ! As you can see for NPM I restarted it at 7:45:13 AM and now it works fine. Maybe just for Nginx I could create a command that would execute at my server startup and that would restart NPM automatically ?
For jackett though I really don’t know what to do…

Just to be sure: you do use docker compose up -d to deploy the compose project, right?
I used docker compose up -d for Jackett and manually installed NPM with Portainer following this tutorial. Here is the file I used for Jackett :

But honestly whether I installed these containers with docker compose or manually in Portainer I always had this weird problem of them running but not being accessible 
The compose file does nothing fancy, so indeed if the application inside the container is running, it should be reachable from the host ip/name and published port. The service restart in the logs you shared earlier looks suspicous: the was no error indication, just that it was shut down, and then restarted again. Not sure if it realy is a problem or just you stopping the container from a terminal.
The compose file provides no indication about how you handle the npm to jackett communication. Normally I would expect npm and jackett to share a container network and npm to use http://jackett:9117 as upstream for the reverse proxy rule. So I assume in your scenario they don’t share a container network and you use “http://{docker host ip or host name}:9117” instead? (this is not going to work if npm uses a macvlan network)
Yeah indeed none of my containers share a network (I don’t know how to do that tbh) so I just do IP+port for NPM and it works fine for now ! For the shutdown and restart I thinks that’s me restarting the container in a terminal.
I’ll try to fully uninstall Jackett and its image and to build it back from scratch, see if it works.
No need for that. It should be enough to shut down the container, empty the host side of your volume mappings: /home/louise/docker/Jackett/config and /home/louise/docker/Jackett/downloads, compose up again.

Oh well I deleted it all already… Good news : Jackett started properly and I can access it ! I copied back the config file to have everything the way it was and it appears to be working. I’ll just see tomorrow if it starts well with my server and if it does i’ll do the same with NPM !
Well I reinstalled everything but still the same problem, after rebooting my server Jackett and NPM are running but I can’t access 'em. It’s even worse 'cause now even if I restart these containers they still don’t work.
I found this in the logs of NPM :

I went in /run in the container but can’t find /uncaught-logs/current so I don’t have more info…
Does this issue with s6-rc ring a bell to somebody ?
PS : I recreated the Jackett container and it works fine now, don’t know why.
In the end I just made a script that restarts the container two times (one wasn’t enough) when my server start and it works !
