Docker for mac won't update

Expected behavior

Installing update works.

Actual behavior

Downloads new archive.
Fails to extract new archive.

Information

  • the output of:
    • Moby Menu > Diagnose & Feedback on OSX
  • a reproducible case if this is a bug, Dockerfiles FTW
  • page URL if this is a docs issue or the name of a man page
  • host distribution and version ( OSX 10.10.x, OSX 10.11.x, Windows, etc )

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. run docker for mac 1.11.1-beta13.1
  2. try and update

BTW - I’ve already done a clean install once and since then the updates don’t work either.

I am having the same issue upgrading from 1.11.2-beta15 to 1.12.0-rc2-beta16. I have been able to upgrade in the past, but as soon as we transitioned to docker 1.12 the updates stopped working

Checking for updates offers to download and install 1.12.0-rc2-beta16, but after install and relaunch, notification window says “Docker has been updated! New version is 1.11.2-beta15” but that’s what I already had.

Even when trying to download a fresh install the DMG is corrupt.

I’m having this issue as well. My download chokes at 111.8 MB out of 113.5MB. Build details:

Docker for Mac: version: mac-v1.12.0-beta16.2
OS X: version 10.11.5 (build: 15F34)
