Docker - OpenID support

Hi there,

I have a requirement to login into my application through Docker Open ID. For which I need to configure below Docker details in my application

  • Client ID
  • Client Secret
  • Authorization URL
  • Token URL

I would like to know how can I get/create it?

Thanks for support.

I must admit, I am unclear about what you actually want. Can you rephrase it please?

Hi There, I want to enable a docker social login for my application through OpenID connect. To enable the same for my application I need to configure with below details in my 3rd party application

  • Client ID
  • Client Secret
  • Authorization URL
  • Token URL

I would need to know how/where to get these details from Docker. Your response will be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Probably from nowhere. Docker uses the Docker ID to allow you to log in on their sites, but I have never heard about other sites that are not part of the Docker Inc.

You can try to ask for that feature in the roadmap: GitHub - docker/roadmap: Welcome to the Public Roadmap for All Things Docker! We welcome your ideas.

Do you know about any sites which implemented it and not owned by Docker?

I have seen some websites where Docker ID has been used as one of the Social Login.
I need a help on how to get Client ID, Client Secret from Docker ID. Do I need to do anything to be registered with support of Docker Team?

Do you remember one? Could you share a link, please?

I could be wrong but I don’t know about a publicly available authentication service that uses Docker ID. If it is not public and you have seen it on a website that has a contract with Docker Inc, then you need to contact Docker Inc. The Docker Support (as you suggested) is a good start.

Log in or sign up to secure your projects | Snyk, you could refer this one.

If there is no official documentation, then it’s highly likely not publicly available for everyone.
Snyk used to be (or still is?) a docker partner.
