I dont understand scout recommendation of ubuntu dev

Why scout don’t let me stand at 24.10 of ubuntu that is latest official version?
I think if i change to devel, system will be more unstable…

This is what the docs say about supported operating system:

Only supported OS distributions

Allow only Docker Official Images of supported Linux distribution versions.

When this option is enabled, images using unsupported Linux distributions that have reached end of life (such as ubuntu:18.04) trigger a policy violation.

Enabling this option may cause the policy to report no data if the operating system version cannot be determined.

Enabled by default.

According to the Docker Hub description of the Ubuntu repo, the tag 24.10 is a supported tag, and according to the Ubuntu release cycle, the version is not EOL. So neither should trigger a Scout policy violation.

Thus said, I have no idea why it recommends changing from the current 24.10 tag to the 25.04 tag.

That is indeed odd, safe to say I would not take Scout’s recommendation, perhaps it should be reported as unintented behaviour
