No success message on installation

(Luke Bennett) #1

Expected behavior

According to the docs, after Docker for Mac installs you should get a success message popup - https://beta.docker.com/docs/mac/getting-started/.

Actual behavior

I didn’t get the popup, was left wondering if everything had completed successfully or not. Everything does seem fine (see pinata output below), but the user experience is confusing.

Information

OS X: version 10.10.5 (build: 14F27) Docker.app: version v1.11.1-beta12 Running diagnostic tests: [OK] Moby booted [OK] driver.amd64-linux [OK] vmnetd [OK] osxfs [OK] db [OK] slirp [OK] menubar [OK] environment [OK] Docker [OK] VT-x Docker logs are being collected into /tmp/20160520-113553.tar.gz Most specific failure is: No error was detected Your unique id is: 453D059C-640D-4AD9-8130-56D520FEE4C1

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Install Docker for Mac on OSX 10.10.5

Did you start Docker.app after installation? The popup is display after starting the app (and answering a few questions)

Sorry for the slow response - yes, I’d started the app, it was running and showing in the status bar. I just never got the popup.
