Request: Docker GUI should be able to start the service

Steps to reproduce:

  • kill docker service with “task manager” or “services” app
  • Try to start docker with GUI icon
  • GUI shows: Docker failed to initialize. Docker for Windows service is not running.

That’s OK … but …

As a user I expect a button or a possibility to start the service again, without the need to restart the computer or the need to know, where I can manually start services.

In the start menu there should be a ‘Docker for Windows’ icon that can be used to start the service once it’s been stopped.

That’s the docker GUI, which will be in the bottom right toolbar. … I’m talking about the background service, seen in the task manager or with the service app.
