Unable to share a drive

Expected behavior

Drive is shared so that I can mount volumes in the VM

Actual behavior

Information

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10586]

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Open the Docker for Windows settings dialog
  2. Click Manage shared drives
  3. Select drive C
  4. Click OK

The Share Drives dialog disappears after approximately 10 seconds, and after another 15 seconds the “Docker failed to initialize” “The semaphore timeout period has expired” message is displayed. When I click OK then Docker disappears from my system tray and I need to reopen it.

I’m unable to mount a drive as a result. I need to use local files as I’m using this for development. It was never a problem with Virtual Box and Docker Toolbox

I have a similar issue but instead, Docker stops responding.

I tried to do a 100MB drive and share it but same issue, maybe that would work for you.
