Currently there is a problem whether through VMWARE support DOCKER without platform LINUX example UBUNTU.CENTOS, but you can use DOCKER open direct, for example, can be used COREOS?
I am not sure exactly what you are asking but you will need a LINUIX os to
support docker ,
you cannot run docker right on VMWARE without a Lunix OS
In VMWare Workstation and Player I have run (and still am) various docker, docker-machine, etc. Just install a new Virtual Machine (Ubuntu, Debian or CentOS) and install docker on it.
But maybe you want a situation akin to boot2docker. Then you could try to make the Virtual Box image boot2docker uses into an ova and import that into VMWare (I haven’t tried that).
