I have installed Docker desktop version 4.32.0 on Windows 11 with WSL2. I have noticed that one of the distros, docker-desktop-data
, is missing and seems not to be installed. Is this causing a problem? I have pulled images and everything seems to be working. I also have not found anything regarding this change in the latest updates, so I’m wondering if it’s not being used anymore.
It came with Docker Desktop 4.30.0
https://docs.docker.com/desktop/release-notes/#4300
- Added a simplified provisioning mode for WSL2 that avoids the need for the ancillary
docker-desktop-data
WSL distribution (experimental).
Since this is experimental, I can’t tell why it was installed for you without that distribution.
Thank you for your response. It has indeed been integrated in the newer versions. I tried installing a version before(4.29.0), and now I see both distros.
