Docker desktop returns incorrect authentication credentials despite same credentials working in Safari hub

Docker desktop returns incorrect authentication credentials. I can login to Safari but not on my Mac Desktop. This happened right after the update failed. This is Catalina on Mac. This was reported a year ago but no response.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch docker desktop
  2. Sign in is available in menu
  3. Sign in, enter login and password
  4. Receive response of authentication credentials incorrect
  5. Login to safari hub, success
  6. Change password on safari hub
  7. Still password fails in desktop login
  8. Restart docker
  9. Reboot Mac
  10. No reporting of this other than a year ago in January, but no thread reported there.

I resolved this by selecting the update that previously failed which this time applied successfully and then allowed login after it completed the update.

Resolved.
