I accidentally reset the docker desktop. Why would Docker present this option in the UI in the first place? I thought it would reset the docker configs, but it went ahead and deleted all my containers and images.
The cause was the vmmen process which occasionally starts hogging up RAM and CPU, and you have to kill WSL/dicker desktop to stop it doing so.
It will take a lot of time to rebuild what I had (dev environment), is there a way to recover, revert/undo this?
You can not recover a WSL2 distribution. Docker Desktop uses two WSL2 distributions: one for the docker engine backend, and one for the data. Once a WSL2 distribution is deleted, the vhdx file is deleted. If you have a consistent backup of the vhxd file, you could try to recover it from the backup.
