New to this stuff

I have Windows 10 Home; I read that Windows 10 Pro is what’s required to have this “virtualization” stuff.
So, I opt for Docker Toolbox instead of Docker for Windows. I open Docker Quickstart and…
"Running pre-create checks…
Error with pre-create check: “This computer doesn’t have VT-X/AMD-v enabled. Enabling it in the BIOS is mandatory"
Looks like something went wrong in step ´Checking if machine default exists´… Press any key to continue…

Looks like a catch 22.

VT-X/AMD-v is a BIOS setting you need to enable manually.

And if my computer doesn’t support “virtualization”? (which, though it’s not really clear to me, it seems most Windows versions pre-windows 10 PRO do NOT).
And if it does?? Any idea on how to enable it? Because I see nothing about it in the BIOS.

Hi

Your hardware need to support virtualization. Please check your CPU and motherboard if it supportsVT-X/AMD-v . Sometimes a bios and firmware update can be helpful.
