Days ago, after having installed Docker Desktop via brew cask I had ticked the option to hide the menu bar icon (the whale).
Now that I restarted my laptop, the icon is finally gone, but unfortunately I cannot access the preferences of Docker Desktop. If I try to run the .app nothing happens, since docker is already running.
Is there a way to access the preferences via command line or to call that preference pane somehow?

I’m having the same issue, docker runs OK (daemon) but the Desktop app on macOS Catalina is not working, does not show.
I tried to uninstall and install it again (Docker Desktop) without success.
I could not find a way to force a factory reset using the command line, probably this would be an option.
This started, in my case, after updated the Docker Desktop, few days ago.
