[Solved]Cannot update/remove rc2-beta16 (Build 4760) missing .msi "The old version of Docker cannot be removed"

Expected behavior

“Install Update” (or even just uninstalling Docker via Programs and Features) removes old version and installs new.

Actual behavior

During “Gathering Required Information” stage of installer, popup: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an olternate path to a folder containing the installtion package `tmpB72E.msi" in the box below."

Defaults to source C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Temp

Selecting 'Cancel` yields “The old version of Docker cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group”

  1. Start Docker
  2. When update notification shows, click Install…
